Undergraduate Research

Undergraduates in the Department of Statistics regularly engage in joint research projects with faculty and/or gradaute students. A few specific programs are:

NSF/Vertical Integration of Graduate Research and Education

Through our National Science Foundation Vertical Integration of Graduate Research and Education, undergraduates in the department have an opportunity to participate in organized research activities in the areas of statistical genetics or computational finance from the Department of Statistics or other areas through our partner departments.

Rice University Summer Institute of Statistics: Research Program for Undergraduates (RUSIS)
RUSIS - Information

This is a 10-week summer program. The goal is to prepare undergraduate students for a graduate research career in the Statistical Sciences, especially those students from underrepresented minority groups. RUSIS will be held at Rice University, and students will have access to cutting-edge computational facilities and state-of-the-art teaching classrooms.
