Research Groups and Centers
Research groups are an important component to our active and vibrant department. These groups may consist of a few faculty members, their graduate students and undergraduate students or they may represent one of the major activities of the departmental research and education agenda. Furthermore, the research groups are overlapping in that faculty are members of multiple groups and the activities of each group support activities of the other groups.

Statistical Consulting Lab (SCL)
The Statistical Consulting Lab (SCL) at Rice University has been established to advance, promote and support the use of statistical methodologies within the Rice research community. Dr. Scott Baggett of the Department of Statistics and the Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Management currently serves as the directory of the SCL. Each spring Dr. Baggett teaches a course in statistical consulting (STAT 450) complimenting the SCL research initiatives.
