Marina Vannucci, the Noah Harding Professor of Statistics at Rice University, has been appointed co-editor of the Journal of the American Statistical Association (JASA).
JASA is published quarterly by the American Statistical Association, the principal professional body for statisticians in the United States. Vannucci will be one of three co-editors handling papers submitted to the Theory and Methods section of the journal. Her four-year appointment starts in January.
Vannucci earned her Ph.D. in statistics from the University of Florence, Italy, in 1996, and joined the Rice faculty in 2007. She served as department chair from 2014 to 2019.
She is an elected Member of the International Statistical Institute and an elected Fellow of the ASA, the Institute of Mathematical Statistics, the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the International Society for Bayesian Analysis. Vannucci served as editor-in-chief of the journal Bayesian Analysis from 2013 to 2015.
