The ISBA was founded in 1992 to promote the development and application of Bayesian analysis. The ISBA provides an international community for those interested in Bayesian analysis and its applications.
Vannucci is a lifetime member of the ISBA and was elected Fellow in 2014. Her priorities during her tenure are organization and finance, outreach, and visibility and dissemination.
“ISBA has grown tremendously over the past several years and can now count on a steady and active membership,” said Vannucci. “Many sections and chapters have been established, with active programs that contribute to the visibility of the Society and to its international and interdisciplinary outreach.”
Vannucci has served the society in numerous roles in recent years, including chairing various committees and most recently as a member of the executive committee as president-elect.
“My most rewarding experience has been acting as Editor-in-Chief of the flagship journal of the Society, Bayesian Analysis, from 2013 to 2015,” she said. “I look forward to serving the Society again as its 2018 president!”
In addition to her involvement with ISBA, Vannucci is an elected member of the International Statistical Institute (ISI) and an elected Fellow of the American Statistical Association (ASA), the Institute of Mathematical Statistics (IMS), and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
